8 All-Inclusive Resorts Where Golf Rounds Are Included
Travel has entered its all-inclusive era. With the bland, cookie-cutter all-inclusive resorts of yesteryear far gone, today’s modern options are wowing and wooing travelers to have it all for a per-night price. And that can mean golf, too.
All-Inclusive Resorts That Include Golf Are Rare
Experts estimate that there are approximately 1,000 all-inclusive resorts across the globe. While many have golf courses on-site, offer access to nearby greens, or provide a stay-and-play package or golf rounds for an additional fee, very few include rounds in their standard overnight booking.
Here are eight resorts that do.
Mohonk Mountain House in New York
Ninety miles north of New York City, nestled inside 40,000 acres of protected forest, is a dreamy Victorian castle named the #1 Resort in the Northeast in the Condé Nast Reader’s Choice Awards. Beloved by families, couples, groups, and centuries of distinguished visitors, the historic Mohonk Mountain House transports guests to a nature-filled oasis that feels worlds away.
In line with the founders’ vision, the all-inclusive structure allows guests to focus on enjoying nature through a myriad of activities without worrying about the cost of each one. Dining, sports, water activities, nightly entertainment, classes, valet parking, gratuities, and the award-winning Kids Club are included in the nightly rate. Green Fees are complimentary, and overnight guests are welcome to play unlimited rounds of golf during their stay.
The Mohonk Golf Course
The Mohonk Golf Course was established in 1897, making it one of the oldest golf courses in the U.S. It features undulating fairways and protects itself with blind tee shots and uneven lies. Its 19th-century design can battle 21st-century equipment, making it a shot-maker’s paradise. Nestled on a mountaintop, the course offers breathtaking views of the Shawangunk Mountains. The natural topography features rolling terrain and varied elevations, creating a challenging yet scenic golfing experience.
Unlike many other historic courses, golf was never restricted by gender—women were free to play from its inception in 1897. Over the years, the Mohonk Golf Course has welcomed numerous distinguished guests, including renowned golfers, celebrities, and world leaders who have enjoyed its unique challenges and scenic beauty.
Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada
On a quiet stretch of world-renowned Grand Anse Beach is Grenada’s only AAA Five-diamond property. This upscale all-inclusive resort includes meals and drinks, tennis, non-motorized watersports, bikes, a fitness center, children’s activities, and membership at Grenada’s Golf Club.
The Grenada Golf & Country Club
Built in the 1930s, it’s a short but demanding course. With most of the holes being elevated, it presents a fun challenge. The 18 tee boxes allow players to play 18 holes by playing the course twice, but from different tee boxes.
Sandals Resorts in Jamaica
Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals Royal Plantation, and Sandals Ochi guests can enjoy unlimited golf rounds at Upton Estate Golf & Country Club. Designed by P.K. Saunders, the 18-hole, par 72 course has three sets of tees. At 700 feet above sea level in the lush hills the views are stunning.
While guests receive complimentary transfers from their resort to the course, a $30 golf cart fee is required.
Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia
Guests staying at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Halcyon Beach, or Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia can enjoy golf with unlimited green fees included at Cap Estate Golf and Country Club. The Par 71 Greg Norman-designed course features sprawling green slopes, ponds, and lush tropical foliage.
All three resorts offer complimentary transfers from the country club; however, golf carts are required and cost $50.
